Soundswash Adventures

This week the Sound Swashbucklers, also known as Team Rockstar, have spent their time adventuring in the numerous habitats found around Beekman Beach at the WaterFront Center!

We have met many new friends, including oysters, clams, mussels, and six different types of crabs! The Sound Swash have worked together as a team to pull seines, sail sonars, and explore the marsh for baby fish and crabs. They have learned all about how the plants and animals they see use photosynthesis, camouflage, and regeneration to survive. Everyone was excited to spend the afternoon fishing off the pier, even though the fish seemed to be hiding from our bait and we came home empty handed. We will continue to work as a team kayaking on Thursday and on the Christeen this Friday!
