Homestead School

Kindergarteners from the Homestead School, in Garden City, arrived on October 7th, bright eyed and ready to have some fun learning!  After a picnic style snack by the water, they headed to our favorite classroom, the beach. Sprawled out on beach towels, the children eagerly listened to a story about seashells and sea creatures. Then they broke into groups to bury their hands into our shell sand boxes. They found and identified different kinds of shells, using all their five senses. The morning ended with a visit from some of our local critters for the children to touch and learn about. What an enthusiastic and bright group to have visited us on such a crisp and beautiful fall morning!
